Michelle Buonfiglio does things like pose for this scandalous photo “in bed” with Fabio not just because she adores romance novels, but also because she’s alive to do them! Modern medicine gave her a new lease on life when she received a kidney transplanted from her brother 22 years ago. Thankful for her good fortune – and aware many more people are in need of “miracles” that come through years of costly medical research — Michelle lives every day like the blessing it is, and is honored to lend a hand to events like Unleash Your Story.
This year, Michelle’s challenging readers and bloggers to do what they love best – and would be doing anyway – to help raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis. So rather than feeling guilty about reading favorite romances instead of doing laundry, she wants romance fans to work toward beating her goal of reading 10,000 pages during UYS! And Michelle’s fellow bloggers and columnists can enjoy themselves – and entertain their online viewers – while they peck the keyboard to outdistance Michelle’s writing goal of 10,000 words written in posts and comments.
Michelle hosts Barnes & Noble.com’s new “Heart to Heart” (H2H) daily romance fiction blog and is the creative force behind RomanceBuyTheBook.com (RBTB), a fun and positive place where readers and writers hang to talk love, sex, family, life — and, of course, romance novels – with Michelle and her engaging team of contributing editors! RBTB’s also been syndicated at 80+ TV news websites like WNBC.com, and Lifetime TV’s myLifetime.
Michelle’s a summa cum laude grad of St. Francis University with a B.A. in Fine Arts/Writing, as well as a former Miss PA and Top Ten Miss America contestant. She lives in the Midwest with her husband, two kids and a fairly ungrateful cat. She hopes you’ll sign an organ donor card, then talk with your loved ones about your decision.
